"I don't know why I'd try and lie to you. I don't know why I lie awake at night. I've grown cold inside since that late night drive. Shapes and lights that blind the sky.... Reoccurring lines, scrambled alibis, they say visions came to you, you and only you. Nothing came to me, in and out of dreams, they say visions came to you, you and only you. The pink stains on our clothes made of those strange molecules came up with questions stemmed straight from the follicles of men in the past with similar experience, but I cannot lie, nor deal with incompetence. Barney and Betty were so predictable, ending their time with visions incapable of telling their tale without holding a fistful. I've been sold, or so I've been told. You insist your bags are stacked at the back door, then wash off the filth and lie naked on the floor. "Coming from Quebec, we headed out and drove, into the canyons on a lonely road. 'Satellite or conventional craft?' I turn around and I'll ask myself. Step on the pavement into some great adventure, look all around at the lovely weather, as it lands on the Cannon Mountains fifty feet away, then we black out and not remember the day, so what can I do? Coming through the canyons, they float past. In front of us, no sound from the impact. Inside there might be something wrong, but we can look past, and hope this feeling wouldn't last. Yeah, coming through the canyons, they float past. In front of us, no sound from the impact. Inside there might be something wrong, but we can look past, and hope this feeling wouldn't last. These canyons don't speak to me, but lately I'm feeling empty of the things I'd find in my missing time... The things I'd find in my missing time...."

"I've got a mind full of junk, and a body with despair, livin' it up in the sweet country air. Your subconscious goes too deep, you find I'm so very different from all the luny kids who claim to be abducted. You know, it seems to me... It seems kinda crazy. Betty says it's special but it feels kinda hazy to me. So I'll spit words from my mouth that came out of others, but what I really believe makes me hide in the covers at night. I've got my back against the wall, I've got my back on the wall. I can't tell if I'm losing control... Betty's having nightmares! Betty's having nightmares! She's dreaming a sequence of what we may have shared. What is the time? My watch seems to have died... Keeping up with this is causing troubling times... I've got my back against the wall, I've got my back on the wall. I can't tell if I'm losing control, or if I'm holding it in... We're in the same car, but I think this is the perfect metaphor for how far we really are apart. You smell like smoke... Is this some kind of elaborate joke? Getting back at me for all the songs I wrote? We are the unforgivables. We are the ones in altered states. We are the ones you should've lost. We are the friends that you forgot. We are the unforgivables. We are the ones in altered states. We are the ones you should've lost. We are the friends that you forgot."

"The other mother is not another that can read our thoughts, but inside that place, did it happen or not? You're having nightmares 'bout all the things that you've seen, but some of those things I find hard to believe. I don't wanna remember all the nasty things we've done. When it's our time, it's our time to go and be gone. Pack your bags and leave me out in the cold. Now that it's done, I can be alone. I'm having trouble sleeping when it is late at night, I'll go down watch the t.v. in a dim light. My thoughts are transparent, while yours are recognized, but I never thought you'd be this way now that you are mine. I don't wanna remember all the nasty things we've done. When it's our time, it's our time to go and be gone. Pack your bags and leave me out in the cold. Now that it's done, I can be alone. I don't wanna remember all the nasty things we've done. When it's our time, it's our time to go and be gone. Pack your bags and leave me out in the cold. But now that it's done, I'll never be alone...."

"Keep your opinions to yourself. Quit putting words in my mouth, just 'cause you saw a man in your dreams, in platinum clothing and eyes that scream. They'll test your blood. They'll take a lock of your hair. Don't get confused. Don't let them stare into your.... Don't let it go to your head. Don't slip, confabulation. If you let it go to your head, we could get by through integration. They'll test your blood. They'll take a lock of your hair, but don't get confused. Don't let them stare into your eyes. We took the sun! We took the sun and made it our own! Now we'll take the Earth, and all it has birthed, and make it our own!"

"I know it's not the time or place, but I'm in the mood. It's up to you to choose. I've found the cure to loneliness, it's at my fingertips, and you can feel it if we kiss. I've got a master plan, it involves you and me, where deep beneath a velvet sea, we'll wrestle between my sheets. But when I get home, I'm feeling restless. When you arrive, it gets wild. So lie with me. Lie with me... You know I'm feeling kinda down, I'd like you here with me, just don't be a tease. Let's strip off all of our clothes. I'll act on instinct. Let's see where that will lead. I've got a master plan, it involves you and me, where deep beneath a velvet sea, we'll wrestle between my sheets. But when I get home, I'm feeling restless. Then when you arrive, it gets wild. So lie with me. Lie with me........"

"You know I never mean to harm you, but I can never not reply, so we get high and lie with gods in heaven. We'll get by... I won't lie, I'm still alive. Take me there. I am scared. You know I never mean to harm you, but I can never not reply. We get high and lie with gods in heaven. Yeah, we get by. I won't lie, I'm still alive. Take me there. I am scared. Introduce toxins. Enter my mind. Don't be afraid of what you find... So long, my friends. So long. Goodbye."

Hills 04:06
"We lost our way on the way back from vacation. We lost our minds when we stepped from the car. They found a way to block our memories up, and now I see how we were used up. So I'll say, 'What of it, man? Can you keep a secret? That we lost our minds when we stepped from the car, and we found out... That there were hills where we thought we'd be safe. From all the skies where all the ashes lay wake, and on the way home we found out that we'd never be okay.' We lost our way. And now that all of these feelings are gone, I'll find a way to ease my pain and move on, 'cause inside my brain, there is blood to be born, but in my wake, I hope that thousands are warned from this fate. And there were hills where we thought we'd be safe. From all the skies where all the ashes lay wake, and on the way home we found out that we'd never be okay. We lost our way. Yeah, there are hills where we thought we'd be safe, from all the skies where the ashes lay wake. And on the way home, we'll find out we'll never be okay... All just because we lost our way...."
